Tracer – Plant Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The Tracer Plant Support Specialist  will be the direct contact working on-site at the Toledo Assembly Complex and will be the ‘Plant Resident Expert’ and the ‘Lead’ for the Tracer Application (Wiring guided diagnostics Tool).  This position is intended to be the plant focal point for Tracer implementation, improvement, sustainment, and is responsible for driving Tracer’s value at the assembly plant.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Lead, coordinate, and support activities within the assembly plant for initial implementation of Tracer.
  • Coordinate critical activities required to communicate and resolve issues associated with Hardware installation/defects, Plants System Issues, and Tracer Application Bugs / Downtime.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel at the plant.
  • Support & Coordinate Tracer Training for Plant Personnel (hourly and salary).
  • Ability to understand Product Development, Engineering , OEM Plant source gathering and validation processes that are key to the success of the product output.
  • Understanding of the plant’s assembly, testing, and inspection processes associated with all key electrical systems/components and wiring.
  • Generate & collect Proposals for improving Tracer and the Electrical Process at the plant.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Automotive Industry, Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Possess knowledge of the vehicles being built at the assembly plant and their key electrical systems/components and wiring.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Good leadership presence with the ability to work with Plant management and Plant Floor personnel.
  • Self-motivated and ability to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projects.
  • Enthusiastic and well organized. Successful at maintaining schedules and raising issues as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking in a production line environment.
  • Moderate lifting (less than 40lbs) will be required.

Position Type: Some flexibility in hours is allowed but the employee must be available to support plant shifts as required by the customer.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel:  5% to 10%.
